It is extremely difficult to puncture FLEXOTHANE®, but should a sharp object penetrate the fabric, it is virtually impossible to enlarge the rip or tear. The loop structures (see photo on right) of the FLEXOTHANE base fabric distribute pressure throughout the punctured area to hinder tearing. 

In the production of FLEXOTHANE® we do not use chloride, so consequently when disposing of FLEXOTHANE® after use, harmful substances are not released into the environment.

FLEXOTHANE® is stain resistant to petroleum based chemicals. Grease, fuel, oil and other fluids can be easily removed from FLEXOTHANE® by simply wiping. The fabric is machine washable without compromising its 100% waterproof characteristics and can be folded for storage without losing its original shape. A waterproof but breathable coating is obtained by a compact Hydrophylic (PU) layer, whereby perspiration is transported in a molecular chemical way from inside the garment to the outside. This happens under influence of an energy difference between the inside and the outside of the garment, due to a temperature and relative humidity gradient.
